Thunder Pledge To Be Gracious Hosts Off The Ice

(Stockton, CA) Scott Brand, president of the Stockton Thunder, says the San Joaquin Valley’s hockey team wants to be welcoming and good ambassadors for the city of Stockton.

“We want all the fans of all the teams we play to come here and watch us beat their team. Then go drown your sorrows with a meal and drink at one of our favorite local spots,” Brand said.

The Thunder has partnered with Visit Stockton to help promote the city both at home and on the road. “Sports teams unite communities, and spread the name wherever they go,” Brand said. “We will be proud to carry the name Stockton and represent the region with pride. And of course, we welcome other teams' fans to join us and see everything Stockton has to offer.”

As part of the partnership, Visit Stockton will sponsor the Thunder’s away jerseys, featuring the Visit Stockton logo and #StocktonTrue branding as the team competes in communities across California and around the country.

For Visit Stockton CEO Robyn Camino, the partnership is an opportunity to build on the Thunder’s connection to Stockton and introduce more people to the community behind the team.

“We’re proud to partner with the Thunder and excited to support the return of hockey to Adventist Health Arena in Downtown Stockton,” Camino said. “This partnership aligns with our mission to promote Stockton as a destination and invite people to come experience the city for themselves. Hockey fans are incredibly loyal, and we are encouraging them to follow their teams to Stockton, stay awhile, explore the city, and make the most of their time here.”

Opening night at Adventist Health Arena is against the Oceanside Shock on Saturday, October 17. Fans don’t have to wait that long though to get a sneak peek at the upcoming season, as the team has announced an open house to take place on Thursday, September 10. That event will be free and open to the public.
