Thunder Make 2-For-1 Trade; Sign Another

(Stockton, Ca.)--The Stockton Thunder made a trade with the Mid South Monarchs, acquiring the rights to forwards Lucas Piekarczyk and Damon Furseth in exchange for the rights to Carter Shinkaruk. Last month Stockton acquired Shinkaruk’s rights from Fresno in exchange for future considerations.The Thunder also signed rookie forward Brendon Wolesky.

Piekarczyk will be no stranger to the Federal Prospects Hockey League. Last year, playing for Mississippi, the 5-foot-9, 161 pounder registered 24 points on five goals and 19 assists in 29 games. Furuseth also has FPHL experience with Blue Ridge. Last season, splitting time with Blue Ridge and Birmingham and Peoria of the Southern Professional Hockey League, he played a total of 47 games scoring four goals and 25 assists for 29

points.

In a separate transaction, 22-year old Brendon Wolesky signed with the Thunder for training camp. His last experience came in junior hockey in the North American Hockey League in 2023-24.

The Thunder is gearing up for the season that begins on October 11 visiting the Oceanside Shock, with the home opener slated for Saturday October 17 at Adventist Health Arena, also against Oceanside. On Thursday September 10, the team is hosting an open house, where fans will have a chance to mingle with staff, learn about team activities, and have a chance to view seating options for the upcoming season.
