NHL Opener A Boom For Stockton Fans

(Stockton, CA) When the National Hockey League begins its regular season on Tuesday September 29th fans of the Stockton Thunder will have a special chance to watch the action all day while meeting and mingling with Thunder players and personnel.


The Thunder is hosting three watch parties at area restaurants throughout the day to kick start the season. Fans are invited to enjoy the games with the Thunder, win prizes and enjoy good food and fun.


ESPN will be televising three games that day, and the Thunder will be at three restaurants watching the games. Watch parties will be at Round Table Pizza, the Graduate Restaurant and Basil’s. Each party will feature free contests where fans can guess the score, shots on goal, and penalty minutes for each team in the first period, and hockey trivia questions in the second intermission to win Thunder prizes.


“There’s a lot of excitement building for our home opener (on October 17th) and this gives everyone a chance to whet their hockey appetites and get to know some of the Thunder,” team president Scott Brand said. “We’ve got great opportunities throughout the area for everyone to join the fun no matter

what their schedule allows. Lunch, dinner or late night, we’ve got something for everyone.”


The details of the three Stockton Thunder NHL watch parties on Tuesday September 29:


2 p.m. Round Table Restaurant–2405 Pacific Ave. (end of Miracle Mile)-Florida Panthers vs. Carolina Hurricanes. This game is a match up of the last three Stanley Cup champions. And Thunder fans will also enjoy 20% off their bill during the watch party.


5 p.m. The Graduate Restaurant-2207 Country Club Boulevard-New York Rangers vs. Boston Bruins. A match-up of two of the original six NHL Franchises.


7:30 p.m. Basil’s-2324 Grand Canal Blvd Suite #4-Chicago Blackhawks vs. Vegas Golden Knights. A division rival of the San Jose Sharks and last year Stanley Cup finalist has its home opener against Chicago.


There will also be a special announcement about the upcoming season at each party. The Thunder will have its home opener on Saturday October 17th at Adventist Health Arena against the Oceanside Shock at 6:11 p.m.
