Thunder Add To Training Camp Roster

Trade For Nick McHugh; Sign Brett Mennear

(Stockton, CA)--The process of building the Stockton Thunder training camp roster has continued with a trade and a free agent signing.


The Thunder acquired the rights to left wing Nick McHugh from the Fresno Falcons in exchange for the rights to Joe Mack. Thunder director of hockey operations Gary Graham said he team has also added Brett Mennear, who’s played the last five seasons in Germany.


Mc Hugh, 5-foot-11, 181 pounds does have previous experience in the Federal Prospects Hockey League, with the Blue Ridge Bobcats. His best season came in 2024-25, when he had 38 points on 14 goals and 24 assists in 45 games.


Mennear has been a prolific scorer in the last five years, averaging nearly a point and a half a game. The 5-foot-9, 185 pounder racked up 215 points in 144 games in that stretch, scoring 89 goals and adding 126 assists.


The Thunder will open the season on the road against the Oceanside Shock oSunday October 11th. The home opener at Adventist Health Arena will be on Saturday October 17th, also against Oceanside.
