Thunder Acquire High Scoring Center

Fresno Receives Patriks Marcinkevics

(Stockton, Ca.)--The Stockton Thunder have acquired center Carter Shinkaruk from the Fresno Falcons in exchange for Patriks Marcinkevics.

Shinkaruk, a 5-foot-10, 185 pound center played the last two full seasons with Athens Rock Lobsters of the Federal Prospects Hockey League, the league the Thunder is joining this season. The Thunder will play its home opener at Adventist Health Arena on Saturday October 17.

 Shinkaruk’s impact the last two seasons has indeed been strong. He’s totaled 39 goals and 110 assists for 149 points in 112 games, a 1.33 points per game average. The 34-year old from Langley, British Columbia, also registered a plus/minus rating of +60 in that same span. He began his professional career with the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL in 2015-16.
